Malaysia: Maxis now offers 4G LTE for smartphones
Malaysia reached a milestone in its mobile landscape with the introduction of 4G LTE by Maxis in selected parts of Klang Valley in Jan 2013. Maxis was reported to be the first operator in the country to introduce the new service allowing its subscribers to enjoy speeds of up to 75 Mbps, with typical average speeds of 10-30 Mbps on the LTE network. The competitive mobile telecommunications market in the country continued to intensify, with operators taking steps to retain their customer base, including keeping 4G prices comparable with 3G services.
